    Stop sending emails on character create

    Now that we have a lite control panel for non-subscribers, we can stop sending out the emails when a character is created.

    an edit button will need to be added to the control panel view of the character sheets if the emails arent going out.

    You lost me. Why a button? What I was saying is, the reason we send out emails when characters are created is because otherwise there is no way to locate the stats page. Unless the GM is feeling sympathy and looks up the link and sends it to the player. My logic here is that we dont need those emails going out anymore at all, since the players now have a simple way to find their sheets, via the control panel.

    Admittedly now that I think of it, even this may not be enough. The control panel (and the lite version) only offers viewing of the sheet in the control panel interface. There is no link for full-screen access of the sheet. Maybe what is needed is a button somewhere or link or something that enables people to find the full-page character sheet.

    well the reason for the edit button, is because the full page sheet as an edit button at the bottom. If we don’t send out an email then the user doesn’t have a way to view the full page to get to the edit button. I suppose either a link to the full page, or an edit button at the control panel page, both accomplish the same goal, providing a way to reach the edit button.

    I think I have a solution for this ready on the test site. When you go to the Control Panel, try clicking on one of your character sheets. It will display the character in the left panel, as usual. At the top, near the “subscribe” button, you should see a new icon that looks like a small monitor. (Couldn’t find anything better) This will let you view the character full screen. This pops the character out into a new window.

    This should solve several problems. Now when someone wants to edit their character, it can be done on the full screen version. This alleviates us from having to embed the “edit character” form into the control panel.

    And the original purpose of this ticket was to eliminate the emails when new characters are made. I have not disabled this on the test site yet, but that is the ultimate goal.
